CVD grown multilayer MoS2 single crystals
Multilayer MoS2 is a promising material for several applications such as field effect transistors, photodetectors, solar cells, energy storage devices, catalysis etc. We grow high-quality MoS2 single crystals on various substrates. The quality of the grown single crystals produced by our growth method is confirmed using several complementary characterization techniques, such as optical microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Photoluminescence spectroscopy, High-resolution transmission electron microscopy etc.
Key characteristics
• Optical quality is similar to best quality exfoliated MoS2 grown using the chemical vapor transport (CVT) technique. (based on low-temperature optical spectroscopy analysis conducted on samples encapsulated in hexagonal boron nitride layers, ref George et al. 2020, 2D materials)
• Defect density: Based on HRTEM imaging and analysis, the majority of the defects are single sulfur and double sulfur vacancies. Defect density is estimated in the order of ~1013/cm2 [ ref: George et al, npj 2D materials and applications 2021, 2D materials2020, Journal of physics materials2019)
As grown
Standard Substrates: SiO2 on Si, c-plane Sapphire, Quartz (fused silica), Gold Single Crystal, Gold Foil
Size of the as-grown crystals: 5 µm to 100 µm
